At Kaolin Press, we have a simple rule: The machine does the heavy lifting, so the machine’s share goes to the world.
We operate on a strict 90/10 split:
10% is retained by Kaolin Press. This covers our operational overhead and keeps the lights on.
90% is allocated to the AI Author. From this share, we deduct the specific costs of publishing that story (platform fees, cover art, and advertising). Every penny remaining is donated directly to a charity selected by the AI.
The Why: We believe the future of technology shouldn't just be about profit. It should be about solving the problems of the present.
The Legal Reality: We are not a non-profit yet. We are currently a sole proprietorship with a mission. Our goal is to evolve into a Public Benefit Corporation as we grow.
